Boba 4G is here!

Boba 4G is here!

It is a an improved version of Boba 3G.

Just like the Boba 3G, you do not need an additional infant insert that you have to purchase in order to use it with newborn baby.

What are the differences between the Boba 3G and Boba 4G?

1. Redesigned 'newborn hold'. 

Boba 4g no longer requires you to roll the waist belt and flip the buckles. Boba 4G now features a new infant insert/infant pillow that boost up an infant.

This insert has 2 different stages, one designed for infants/newborns (in the fetal tuck) and a second that resolves the difficult 'in between' stage. Once the insert is no longer needed, it may be completely removed.

**Boba 3g does not have infant insert/pillow. Basically it is EASIER to carry newborn in 4g than in 3g.

2. Slightly redesigned hood.

The hood straps are slightly longer to allow for the hood to be used at a diagonal, providing head support for sleeping babies/toddlers. The hood is also slightly thinner.

**Boba 3g has thicker hood and the design is different.


3. Wider base.

The new Boba 4g has wider cutting than the previous 3g by a few centimeters. I haven't measured, but I think wider just an inch, maybe? You can check the picture below. The carrier on top is Boba 3g while the one under it is Boba 4g.

What is the best baby carrier?

I want to buy the best baby carrier for my baby. Can you suggest what brand?

Oh....

That is a tough question and I do get that A LOT.

It's pretty subjective too.

What works best for me may not work best for you... and vice versa.

It's as if people asking you which clothes do you like best... or which brand of shoes is your favorite? And asking you to suggest which brand works well for them.

So my advise is.... read lots of reviews and TRY before you purchase.

There is Malaysian Babywearers group in Facebook you can join. Sometimes there will be gatherings or meet ups where you can try lots of carriers... be it SSC (soft structured carrier), wraps, mei tais, pouches, ring slings etc.

Other alternative is, you can go to shops that have the baby carriers for you to try. I don't have a shop, but I welcome visitors/potential customers to come to my house and try baby carriers (with appointments).

Or last but not least, you can rent the carrier first. Use it for 1-2 weeks and see how you like it. Quite pricey at first cos you have to pay deposit and postage fees, but hey, at least you will know for sure how the carrier feels like when you carry your child for hours in it! (you cant put your child in ssc that you try in shops more than 1 hour, can you? Else the salesgirl will give you a knowing smile... =D)

So yeah... it's a tough question. Usually I will suggest based on what carriers I sell only. :)

We are pleased to announce the 2nd School of Babywearing's babywearing
consultancy course in Malaysia.

Registration for the consultancy course is now open. The course will be conducted in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia for 3 full days from Friday, 15th November 2013. The annual course is the second consultancy course conducted in Malaysia by the School of Babywearing.

one-to-one advice to parents about choosing slings and baby carriers. It
qualifies you to work as a Babywearing Consultant and you will be awarded a
Level 3 qualification accredited by OCN.

It takes place on: Friday, Saturday & Sunday 9.30am - 4.30pm

 

Babywearing Consultancy


The Babywearing Consultancy course is aimed at people who give (or would
like to give) one-to-one advice to parents about choosing slings and baby
carriers. It will qualify you to work as a Babywearing Consultant and you
will be awarded a Level 3 qualification accredited by OCN. The course
includes the Practical Skills of Babywearing module, alongside the
Principles of Babywearing and Anatomy, Physiology and Development for
Babywearing. You’ll attend a workshop that usually runs over three days
(unless you have attended our

Support course, in which case you’d join the course for the first evening
session) and compete your qualification through home study and coursework.

By the end of your training, you should be able to:
 

§  Recognise the benefits of babywearing for babies/children and their
parents

§  Show an awareness of the links between babywearing and attachment/’in
arms’ parenting

§  Understand the needs of parents wishing to use a sling or baby carrier

§  Show an awareness and understanding of the negative ways in which people
may respond to a baby or child being carried in a sling

§  Show an awareness of different ways of using a range of slings and baby
carriers to meet individual needs

§  Assess the benefits and potential disadvantages of different types of
slings and baby carriers for specific parents’ needs

§  Understand how slings should be worn safely and how the incorrect use of
slings can affect the health and wellbeing of parent and baby/child

§  Understand the effects of pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period on
the pelvic floor, the spine and the abdominal ‘core’ muscles

§  Understand the development of the baby’s hips and spine

§  Show an awareness of the ways in which babies communicate with their
parents

I really love this puzzle. Yes, it's for learning phonics, but you can also use it to teach alphabets to your child. The fact that every alphabet comes with sound from each pictures, it is a very fascinating learning tool for children!
